Inspiration: Julie Finn, Executive Coach, Speaker, and Podcast Host

March 27, 2019

Meet Julie Finn. Julie is one of the most intelligent, perceptive, and intuitive women I know. I’ve been close friends with her for years, and have recently seen her incredible podcast, The Working Mother’s Mentor, take off. She’s an inspiration on so many levels – thank you, Julie, for sharing your wonderful insights with us!

Why do you do what you do?

I’m on a mission to inspire, empower, and support women to pursue audacious goals. I want to see more women rise as leaders, run organizations, make their way to the C-suite, grow amazing companies, and be fabulous parents should they choose to—all while loving their lives. I believe that when equipped and supported, our possibilities are truly limitless.

What would you want others to know about your work or organization?

My work, in some ways, was born of frustration. Before I started my company, I often met women who had done all of the “right things” but were not satisfied with their lives. They went to college, worked hard, and paid their bills, but years later often felt stuck, unsure of their direction or stifled. On top of that, many women found that trying to juggle work and family life felt like a never-ending battle that they were often losing. I encountered so many amazing women who needed advice, direction, and guidance but didn’t know where to turn. That is why I started the The Working Mother’s Mentor podcast, where I interview awe-inspiring women and ask them how in the heck they got where they are and how they integrate their big, high-impact lives with their personal responsibilities. I love to understand “how” and the podcast allows me to unpack lots of wisdom and tactical advice. In addition to the podcast, I’m an Executive Coach and a Keynote and Workshop speaker.

How can we support an initiative you care about?

The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (AWF), the only public foundation in the state of Georgia dedicated to women and girls, is doing amazing work. In addition to the nonprofit organizations they support financially and strategically, AWF is also equipping women to lead with compassion, purpose, and integrity. They recently launched their Inspire Atlanta program which works with professional women to elevate their leadership skills and to equip them to serve their communities and their organizations at the highest level.

What is your biggest piece of advice for young women today?

My hope is that young women grasp that they are powerful, unique, and needed. I encourage them to find their voices and to speak up for what they believe in.
